Wow, there really aren't many guns out there

Went to The Sportsman's Warehouse in Mesa today to get some ammo and was shocked at the lack of handguns, rifles, shotguns and ammo. This is a big store and typically they have a wall with a hundred plus handguns on pegs but all they had were maybe 15, mostly revolvers. No AR's or mini 14's or 30's, no Mossburg or 870 hd's and no ammo for 9mm, .40, .45, .223 or much of anything else other than .22.
A month ago they had all of the above in quantity and fortunately I picked up what I needed but I am still shocked at how scarce the supply has become. Is this going to be like Clinton's election and be temporary or is it different this time?

People are exercising the Bill of Rights today, because the BoR may become null and void on January 20th, 2009.

Besides, can you really have too many ammo caches?

My dealer said most wholesalers were wiped out on the most popular models.

Davidson's is "Call for Availability" on most popular items, as well.

When you can find them they are ridiculously expensive. I never thought I would see a 400 dollar Yugo SKS. Or a 1k dollar Yugo AK. Every Wal-Mart I go to is out of almost half their ammo, even the bricks of .22.

I really haven't had trouble finding the guns I would want or need. Prices are up but the guns are there. Maybe I'm in a unique situation, but I can buy pretty much whatever I can afford to purchase if I want to.

Ammo is thin but available.

I had some trouble buying ammo this month. I wanted to get some for my mother and for my brother-in-law for Christmas, and I had to go to several places to find what I wanted.

Yep, I"ve seen more of a hunt and peck for ammo than guns actually. 2-3-even 4 different stores to get what you want. And you have to be quick for specialty stuff. My FFL bud is able to come up with most stuff, either new or by buying from private sellers. It's noticeable though.

John deals in guns, new and used, all kinds, hunting gear, 4 wheelers and stuff... has a hunting lodge, he knows a wide crowd.

How is 308 ammo looking? Figure it will still be easy to get later on since that is a hunting round.

I haven't been looking specifically for it, but have seen some.
